The life of Nuh A. S.

Prophet Noah
(Alaihis salam)

The identity of Noah (as).

There was a gap of ten centuries from Adam (as) to Nuh (as). At the end of which polytheism and superstition appeared and spread among the growing human race. As a result, Allah sent Noah (as) as a prophet and messenger to correct them. He lived to a long age of nine and a half hundred years and spent his whole life praying to bring the wayfaring people to the path.

But his people rejected him. As a result, they are wiped out by the wrath of God. After that, several other nations were destroyed one after another due to disobedience to Allah. In this way, the events of the 6 nations that were destroyed in the early days of the world are described in different parts of the Quran and the people of the world came to know their news only through the Quran. So that the Muslim Ummah and the people of the world can learn from it.

The 6 nations are Noah's tribe, 'Ad, Thamud, Lut's tribe, Midian and Pharaoh's tribe. Of course, the Qur'an also mentions the people of Ibrahim in this list (Tawbah 9/70). They were not destroyed together though. But the people of Abraham's nephew Lot were destroyed and wiped out altogether. We will discuss here first about Nuh (as) and his people

Noah (Alaihis Salam) known as 'Abul Bashar Chani' (ابوالبشرالثانى) or the second father of mankind, was the tenth or eighth subordinate of his father Adam (Alaihis Salam). He was the first Prophet in the world.

Noah (pbuh) had four sons: Sam, Ham, Yafish and Yam or Ken'an. The first three believed. But the latter became a disbeliever and drowned in the flood. Only a few believers among his people responded to the call of Noah (a.s.) and they were saved by boating during the flood.

There is nothing mentioned in the Quran or the hadith about how many believers climbed into Noah's ark and were saved. Similarly, how big the ark was, how and in how many days it was made, nothing has been described. Everything that is described in various tafseers on these matters is based on Israelite fables.

Which has no proper basis. Imam Tirmidhi narrated in the Tafseer of Surah Shaffat verse 77 that Hazrat Samura (RA) was the leader of the Prophet (PBUH) that after the flood of Noah, only the descendants of his three sons Sam, Ham and Yafesh were left. Rasoolullah (pbuh) also said that Sam Abu al-Arab
